Tool's Maynard James Keenan Throwing Himself a 50th Birthday Party

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan will celebrate his 50th birthday by performing with two of his other groups, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on May 10th.The prolific rocker will also host a special performance from the recently reunited alt-rockers Failure, as Spin reports. Their set is a much-appreciated gift to Keenan, who said in a statement, "This was the perfect opportunity to tick off one of my bucket list items in the form of a Failure reunion. Tickets for Keenan's "Cinquanta" gig will go on sale on Friday, December 6th at 10 a.m. PST on Ticketmaster. Prices have not yet been revealed. The follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days is expected to come out next year, though Keenan mentioned that his bandmates, who typically write the music before sending it to him, have a tendency to constantly revise and nitpick. "In some ways, they are bigger perfectionists," he said. "But you can only help support their talent so long.Oversight has become unhinged in the current political system.
